Yes I do use 4000d’s when I fish the nene on my lighter rods but I wouldn’t put them through the punishment of bigger weights #15 Yes I do use 4000d’s when I fish the nene on my lighter rods but I wouldn’t put them through the punishment of bigger weights Totally agree Ray the 4000’s are not the reel for the Trent #16 6000 and 8000 The gear ratio is the same the spools are interchangable I have some Shimano 6000 XTEA and some Shimano 8000 XTEA and take the spools off and I cant see any difference at all and they are perfection on my 2.75 powermesh rods and on my Harrison Barbel rods #17 6000 and 8000 The gear ratio is the same the spools are interchangable On the OC you can’t change the spools between 6000 and 8000 reels like you can on the rear clutch versions as they are slightly different size reels #18 I have 6000 and 8000oc I think the 8000c would Balance better with that rod but all personal preference I use 6000OC on C3s for flood/ big river barbel 8000OC on river pike rods - typically 2.5- 2.75tc and smaller baits Whichever you choose they are a brilliant reel Was using 4000s yesterday and had a really good day and both reels faultless Clutches out of the box are faultless #19 You can't fault anything in this range, from the Ds, OCs and Thunnus
