this painting is in a different frame than the one illustrated in the catalogue for Christine Woodside's 2021 exhibition Memories Near & Far

It does happen occasionally but short of the painter using a pseudonym to dodge a gallery contract – as often happened – or a joker adding their name for some spurious reason

Pat Algar studied at Wimbledon School of Art and the Royal Academy in the 1960s

The Grant painting was sold by Whitten’s family  at Auction in 2014
