2024年6月3日まで国立新美術館で開催されていたグループ展「遠距離現在 Universal / Remote」でも出色の映像作品を展示していたドイツ人映像作家、ヒト・シュタイエル（Hito Steyerl）の作品集。本書は、2020年秋にパリのポンピドゥー・センターでの展覧会にあわせて刊行されたもの。国立新美術館でも展示された映像作品《ミッション完了：ベランシージ（原題：Mission Accomplished: BELANCIEGE）》も収録され、本作ではハイブランドBALENCIAGAと、そのコピー品を思われるBELANCIEGEを通して資本主義と政治、格差、搾取、分断など、現代社会の問題を鮮やかかつ痛烈に批評しています。表と裏の両面が表紙となるように構成され、400ページ超のボリュームをしなやかにまとめた本書は、東京TDC賞2022のブックデザイン部門でも入選・ノミネートされています。
