Astrantia major Rubra Christian Geall naturalistic and wildflower gardenAlso known as Masterwort, Astrantia Rubra is held in high regard by florists for its beautiful umbels of starry plummy coloured flowers. Astrantia Rubra flowers continuously from late Spring through into late Autumn. Each small masterwort flower is made up of umbels of tiny flowers that are framed by a papery bract. An excellent cut flower that also dries well. Prefers a sunny spot but does tolerate partial shade and prefers to be kept moist. Bees
