Gold Etched Tall Bronze Jug Mirror Our black lacquer chest ofThis tall, narrow necked jug is cast in bronze, with gold etched detail. It is a reproduction of a ritual wine pitcher, in a design that dates back to the Song dynasty. The body is raised and etched with six faces, narrowing to the neck, which is decorated with ancient Chinese hieroglyphs. The thin, elegant handle is in the form of a serpent or dragon. Bronze vessels like this one were used in religious ceremonies from as early as the Shang dynasty
