Gulls on the shore show_depth I’m at a loss
Description
I’m at a loss
"Ambrus is one of those artist’s I regret not approaching in his lifetime
his work sits comfortably in the tradition of British neo-romantic painting
‘Lost’ was not merely a wistful nostalgia but a fact
In 1953 a painting professor Heinz Poreb came across a Trotin oil for sale in a junk shop in Saint-Germaindes-Prés
Gulls on the shore show_depth I’m at a lossNot a famous Scottish painter but a good old fashioned craftsman painter, technically reliable and reasonably consistent. Weve handled Mr Forsyths work before but nothing on this scale, the only frame we had handy is this remarkable museum quality gesso and gold affair so now its even bigger. Perfect for an Ayrshire manse with a gap over the chimneypiece.
