Description

A giant of twentieth century western illustration and drawing

I love how prolific he is

the Bavarian dealer built up a small body of work by buying a few pieces each time he returned to Paris

The Grant painting was sold by Whitten’s family  at Auction in 2014

I wanted work with more longevity and gravity and Phil was exactly the right person at the right time to talk to about this move
