SUNDAY FOR SAMMY 2004 Comedy here or abroadWhen Geordie actor Sammy Johnson died suddenly in 1998, his friends Tim Healy and Jimmy Nail were determined he would be remembered. The results of their labours was the formation of the Sammy Johnson Memorial Fund and a series of bi annual concerts. On the 1st February 2004, an all star cast of Tynesiders performed two sell out concerts at Newcastle City Hall in support of the fund.
