- Kitayamasugii (Kitayama Cedars in Snow, Kyoto) - Takeji Asano Red flags lining the approachThe serene woodblock print Kitayamasugii (Kitayama Cedars in Snow, Kyoto) by Masao Ido beautifully captures the breathtaking winter landscape of the famed Kitayama cedar forest in Kyoto. The immense grove of remarkably straight cedar trees creates a striking rhythm of vertical lines, while Idos masterful use of color enhances the scenes quiet beauty. The unique interplay of lines, shapes, and colors gives the composition a distinctive visual appeal.
