Description

painted from life in his St John’s Wood studio

Dated 1882

his success was doing a job he truly loved as a way of supporting his family

I absolutely adore them but they are rare and I expect one day soon a cleverer and richer dealer will root out a stash on the continent and make them very expensive overnight
