Cabinets like our black lacquer version were sometimes known as 'Scholars' Cabinets' as they were often used to store the books

it also works well as a stand for a flat screen television

but fits beautifully in a modern setting

The table ends themselves are each worked into a subtle 'S' shape that gives a wonderfully fluid feel to this piece

Ming Two Drawer Chest, Light Elm Display Cabinet with a removable shelf insideThe two drawers on this light elm chest are dovetail jointed and mounted on wooden runners, with the round backed brass handles adding oriental style. Use a pair either side of a bed or place one next to a sofa as a lamp table. This little bedside chest is our own design rather than a reproduction of an old Chinese piece, but the construction and overall look are in keeping with furniture from the Ming dynasty.
