L'Excentrique, 2022 Sparkling its age worthiness is testamentThis charming Merlot has a real sense of place. Produced from twenty year old vines, the hand picked grapes are carbonically macerated, after which they spend ten months ageing in old barrels. The wine needs a little time to open up, but once it has, its a really generous pour full of the spirit of Southern France, with earthy, spicy notes playing off rich fruit in plum and black fig.
