Nottinghamshire Market Square Neutral I sat for a portrait
Description
I sat for a portrait by Phil that now hangs in my studio
Nearly twenty years later a Curator at the Berlin Museum recognised them as by Topolski and they were returned to him
celebrating the optimism and rediscovery of England and Englishness that accompanied the new Elizabethan era of the 1950s
Steve is simply one of the best draughts men I know and his ability to inject dynamism and humour into his drawings is a sheer delight
This painting was exhibited at The Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts in 1915
