Antique Japanese c.1800 Futon Cover 3 Color Pine Bamboo Plum Mon Indigo Dyed Tsutsugaki Doll It remains in fine antiqueKnown as a kakebuton or futon cover this is an antique Japanese hand woven, hand spun cotton fabric which dates to the Edo Era (c. 1800). This large 49" by 57" piece has various shades of indigo blue and red dyes which was applied using a paste resist printing process known as tsutsugaki to create these designs. It is decorated with a flower Mon (family crest) and Pines, Bamboo & Plum Blossoms. It was used in its day as a futon cover. Often these
