Old Flat Earth Planisphere World Map, 1715 by Louis Renard - Cassini Projection - Atlas Shrugged washington dc I have 3 London triptychsThis is an exceedingly rare, full colour Cassini projection map of the world, published in 1715 by Louis Renard. This 'flat Earth' view of our planet was originally drawn by Giovanni Domenico Cassini on the floor of the Paris Observatory around 1690. This was a monumental work and the first real map of the world. Renard reproduced it here, with a superbly engraved figure of Atlas holding Earth on his shoulders. It's a really lovely piece of art.
