本書は、空間あるいは建築への介入によって、都市とその構造の別の側面を探究し続けた作者のプロセスを、さまざまな資料から読み解いています。インスタレーションビューのほか、作者の写真やドローイング、スケッチ、展覧会のアイデアを記したメモ書き、手紙、所有していた本など、作者の作品から関連資料に至るまで豊富な図版を収録。また、廃棄された作者のフィルムの映像を長い時間をかけて再構成し行われた「記録と復元」への試みや、何百枚にもわたる旅の写真によって作者の周囲の世界を構築した視覚的なパノラマなどがまとめられています。今なお現代のアーティストや建築家に大きな影響を与える作者の、その思考の痕跡を辿った一冊です。
