Antique Japanese Meiji Era Kiri Wood Hibachi Very Large Round 19”D Games Used as a Buddhist andThis is a very large antique Japanese all kiri wood hibachi from the Meiji era (1868 1912). A traditional brazier such as this was used as a hand framed and space heater. It is lined with copper and in normal used would have been half full of wood ash, carefully arranged with charcoal on top. Made from a single solid piece of Kiri (paulownia) wood. Diameter = 19" Height = 10" Weight = 14 pounds
