As the little pods mature the open to reveal pure snow white petals and once the petals have dropped the pretty little pods remain

It blooms in summer and prefers full or partial shade and moist soil

Watsonia are so reminiscent of Grandmas Garden, lovely healthy strappy leaves and glorious pink blooms with 6 petals about 5cm across, not too unlike gladiolus, on tall spikes up to about 1. 4 metres tall. the corms naturalize over time and form large clumps, which are easily divided for giving away. This lovely salmon pink looks gorgeous when cut in a vase too. Blooms in late spring to early summer.
