One of the first geology maps of Scotland, and also one of the highest quality and most accurate maps from the 1800s. It was originally put together by Archibald Geikie (director of the Geological Survey of Scotland) and published by AK Johnston in 1876. It is incredibly rare to have a full colour, highly detailed map of Scotland from the 1800s. The detail is really quite astonishing. This is one of
