This carving was once incorporated into a much larger part of a room design
it has some separation between the thin plates and the main plate
It is all hand made and has two cranes detailed in maki-e gold and red laquer
it remains infine condition
Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Side Chair 1800's Yumu Elm Wood Tsubo Kiri case and interior (Paulownia)This is a 150 year old antique Chinese Qing Dynasty side chair likely from the mid 1800's. The multi paneled back rest and lower open form apron incorporates stylized carvings making it one of the favorite pieces of Chinese furniture. The lacquered wood is a very warm red brown. The chair measures approximately 32" tall by about 16" wide and 13" deep (89 x 48 x 48 cm). The seat is about 16" high. Having been used lovingly and carefully over 150 years,
