Old Flat Earth Map of the Americas by Peary, 1905: Flat-Globe, Shipping Routes, Time Zones Size:50x50in (127x127cm) El Salvador:Flat Globe of the World is the evocative title of this 1905 world map, edited by the Arctic luminary Robert E. Peary and issued by the International Globe Company at the high tide of steam, telegraph, and scientific oceanography. Pearys hand gives the work an exploratory urgency: a synthesis of political and physical geography that treats borders, colonial possessions, and landscapes with the same empirical poise as currents, cables, and railways.
