and has recently been serviced by Marshall

This range of speaker went through many variations - its rumoured there nearly 80 different variants of this speaker (which is impressive given the short period of time it was in production)

I went through my mic collection to find the sm57 I thought paired best with this cab - so we have a nice selection of vintage mics to suit this near-forty year old cabinet

It's very similar to the original 5150 design

Over time these have gained a kind of mythical status not for any particular reason as the circuit of the amp never changed throughout production. That said, I have compared extensively to my 6505, and while there shouldn't be any appreciable difference, there is some kind of magic in the older amp. Could it be just related to the age of the transformers?
