Saxe-Altenburg, Duchy. A Bravery Medal, C.1918 Hold illustrating four artillery man loading(Tapferkeitsmedaille). Instituted 20 February 1915 by Duke Ernst II. (1918 1919 issue). Constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised Cross Patte bearing a central Saxon coat of arms, flanked by a date of 1914, the reverse with a central monogram of Duke Ernst II, unmarked, measuring 31. 03 mm in diameter, weighing 12. 6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
