Tocqueville, Alexis de - Autograph Letter Signed 1839 Maria Callas Posters dated in Basel in 1965French historian (1805 1859), politician, scientist and diplomat, best known for his two volume work "Democracy in America" written between 1835 and 1840. Important Autograph lettter signed by him in French (sold untranslated) addressed to Hippolyte Passy, President of the Chamber, stating his support for the abolition of slavery. Size is 6. 7 x 8. 3 inches, two pages written on both sides of the sheet, folds, in excellent condition.
