A warm/dry January and February with favourable moisture conditions in the subsoil allowed for grapes to be picked slightly riper with softer acidity

On the palate concentrated dark fruit flavours are complimented by subtle oak characters of mocha and spice

with hints of ripe red fruits

Kenzie River Flow Merlot/Cab Franc 2022 Size::1 Bottle Fragrant raspberriesThe first wines that really engaged us were the Cabernet and Merlot dominant blends of the Hawkes Bay, shared with our mother in the late 90s. She passed away shortly after. We still have a few wines from that time. They tell a story and are incredibly ageless. So we felt compelled to take a modern spin to the Hawkes Bay classic, red blend. Making wine in Te Matau a Mui feels like we are going full circle, letting life flow to where it wants to go.
