Constructed of of gilded non magnetic metal (probably zinc); the obverse featuring a national eagle with swooped down wings, clutching a wreathed swastika; inscribed Narvik in capital letters, with an Edelweiss flower (representing the Heer) in the center between the date 1940 and a crossed anchor (representing the Kriegsmarine) and propeller (representing the Luftwaffe); with a dark blue wool backer and black paper
