The brass scabbard has several minor depressons/"dings" to the lower obverse/reverse shell and edges with obverse shell decorated with a floral and oak leaf motif and an anchor on the upper scabbard between the floral embellished suspension bands
and a functional metal hinge on the exterior of the case

In silver, obverse illustrating the right facing bust of King Christian (reign: 1863 1906), surrounded by the inscription "CHRISTIAN DEN NIENDE DANMARKS KONGE.", engraver marked "CONRADSEN" (Danish sculptor and medalist Harald Conradsen: November 17, 1817 March 10, 1905) at the base of the bust, reverse inscribed "AF FARENS SVAELG FREMBLOMSTRER PRIIS OG LN" within an open ended wreath bearing
