The Gwalior gateway which had been displayed at the Calcutta International Exhibition (1883) was loaned by the Victoria and Albert Museum
It was an incendiary cluster of about 125 little individual bomblets
an unbodied star consisting of enameled red and yellow four swords connected by their gilded hilts on the centre
cross in fair condition due to corrosion

In bronze gilt, unmarked, measuring 31 mm (w) x 31. 3 mm (h) and 31. 2 mm (w) x 31. 3 mm (h), one with both lugs intact, the other with one of two lugs intact, gilt wear evident on the obverse of one badge, near extremely fine.
