Polished fossil stromatolite. Pseudogymnosolenid type. DOG167 polished magneprase Dimensions approximately 165mm x 105mmDOG167 Fossil stromatolite slab, polished on one side. An as yet unidentified stromatolite, form of Pseudogymnosolenid type. The stromatolite occurs as small digitate columns which are finely laminated. It probably grew in shallow water conditions with intermittent subaerial exposure. From an unassigned unit of the Wyloo Group. Age is approx. 1. 8 billion years. From south west of Newman Western Australia. Approx. 145 mm x 60 mm x 8. 5 mm thick.
