He wrestled in several different leagues, including stints in the US, but he got his start with the historic New Japan Pro Wrestling. While he was wrestling for NJPW, Muta won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship four times, the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship once, and various other championships.
