Instituted 1850 by King Friedrich August II of Saxony. Constructed of silver gilt with multi coloured enamels, consisting of a white enameled Christ Cross with gilded borders joined through the arms by a green and red enamel laurel wreath, the obverse presenting with a central medallion composed of a gilt relief of Duke Albrecht III of Saxony inside a blue enameled ring bearing the Orders Motto of ALBERTUS
