Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, with a central Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting a rounded integral catch, maker marked with the logo of F. W. Assmann & Shne, Ldenscheid, with a cast model number 2, measuring 42. 12 mm (w) x 52. 82 mm (h),
