An 1812 British-Made Medallion Commemorating Tsar Alexander I For The Napoleonic Wars, By Thomas Wyon Auction Archive Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse bearing a raised and rightward facing bust of Tsar Alexander I, circumscribed by name and title in English, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of THE AVENGER OF EUROPE, circumscribed by an inscription of THE HEROIC DEFENDER OF HIS COUNTRY and a date of 1812 in Roman numerals, the obverse marked WYON for British medallist and later Royal Mint chief engraver Thomas Wyon, measuring 44. 65 mm
