Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A German Made War Medal Archive the reverse with the initials(Harp Madalyas). Instituted in 1915. In silver gilt, five pointed red enameled star, each arm finished with ball finials, obverse center bearing a raised crescent moon encircling the Tugra (cipher of Sultan Mehmed V), horizontal pinback marked B. B & Co denoting German manufacture, 54. 8 mm, fine condition. Footnote: The Ottoman War Medal is a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire.
