Pantserhandschoenen Visby, 14e eeuw, 1 mm Tanto's Deze kleinere pauldrons zijn speciaalThese brigandine gauntlets are based on a find (no. 3) from the battle site of Korsbetningen (island of Gotland, Sweden), just outside the city walls of Visby, where an army of Gutnish yeomen and peasants fighting against the conquest of Gotland by the Danes was crushed by the forces of King Valdemar IV of Denmark (Valdemar Atterdag) on July 27th, 1361. These battle gauntlets are hand forged from 1. 5 mm thick steel. The small steel plates that form
