Vintage Mexican Sterling Siver Scalloped Cuff faded blue thrashed long back zipper for closureThis gorgeous sterling silver cuff was made (likely in the 1980s) by a silversmith in Taxco, Mexico, known for its production of silver jewelry and decorative arts since Aztec times. It reminds me of the work of famed Mexican sculptor and jeweler Roberto Ballesteros. The three dimensional scalloped design also recalls the exaggerated shell shapes in Botticelli's The Birth of Venus, mixed with some Art Deco exaggeration. It is stamped 925 for sterling
